PASSENGER WAGONS
PASSENGER WAGONS
The railway has a bogie carriage, built by club members in 2012, for normal passenger work. Part of it started life as carriage AA1605.
We also have two modified H-class cattle wagons. One provides extra passenger-carrying capacity on busy days. The other gives a venue in which a band of local (volunteer) musicians plays on running days.
SMALL WAGONS
BALLAST & FLAT WAGONS
The club has a small flat wagon and a small ballast wagon. These are used for general work around the site.
OTHER WAGONS & LOCOMOTIVES
LARGE BALLAST WAGON YC1602 & LARGE FLAT-BED WAGON
These large wagons came from NZR and are not often used. It is hoped that they can be refurbished in due course.
H-CLASS CATTLE WAGON
This is one of two we own. The other, after being adapted, is used to accommodate the band when they play on our running days. It can also be used to carry passengers on our busy days.
On site are a 30 tonne Bagnall 0-6-0 diesel locomotive (minus the engine) which is being refurbished for advertising use. In addition we have a derelict Peckett steam loco, rescued from a Tarewa Road play park about 1990, which is almost certainly beyond repair.
