SEYMOUR (Green Steam Loco)
Seymour has a 0-4-2 wheel arrangement, and was built in 1955 by Peckett and Sons, Bristol, England. It was the last new steam locomotive to be imported into New Zealand and weighs 12 tonnes. After many years work at the Portland cement works, Whangarei, Seymour was donated to the club in 1978. It was reboilered and given an extensive overhaul in 2007. It operates every third Sunday and other museum live days or special occasions.
The PRICE: works number 200 (Yellow Diesel)
The Price has a 0-4-0 wheel arrangement and was built by A & G Price of Thames, New Zealand in 1961 for Pacific Steel. It was subsequently sold to Ballance Fertilisers, Whangarei, who donated it to us in 2004. It is powered by 104 HP Gardner diesel engine and weighs 18 tonnes.
JOHNNY (Blue Diesel)
Johnny has a 0-6-0 wheel arrangement and was built by Drewry of London in 1962. After many years working at the Portland cement works Johnny moved to us in 1991. It is powered by a 104HP Gardner diesel engine and weights 12 tonnes.
UNION FOUNDRY (Small Blue Diesel)
The Foundry has a 0-4-0 wheel arrangement. After many years working at Ballance Fertilisers it came to us in about 1999. The Foundry weighs about 5 tonnes and is used as a work loco around the site. Although small it is capable of moving around 220 tonnes.
