MODEL RAILWAYs
Local railway modellers were key drivers behind the formation of the club. They had provided the model layout for the A&P Winter Show since the mid-1960s, with funding from the A&P Society, and were based in the A&P hall before moving to our current site in 1987.
Our modellers now have two buildings with working tracks, rolling stock and buildings. The largest one is the Model Trains room, with 8 different working layouts. The Hikurangi station building houses a set-up portraying the mining infrastructure and coal loading facilities in Whau Valley & Kamo between 1900 and 1950.
If you have an interest in modelling please contact us - we always welcome new members and are able to offer further training in modelling skills.
