running days
The Heritage Park has open days on the third Sunday of every month.
On these open days we usually have all our trains running, including our steam locomotive "Seymour". If the weather is suitable the Jiggers are also running.
We also run our trains on the Kiwi North Museum live days - the dates can be found on the Kiwi North website (www.kiwinorth.co.nz).
We aim to run trains on the Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays of the school holidays.
To cover our operating costs we charge (per person per ride):
Steam or diesel train $2.50
Tram $2.50
Jigger $2.50
Children under two - no charge.
Please note the Jigger ride is not suitable for children under 5.
We sell ice-creams, soft drinks and snacks at the Hikurangi station.
All purchases can be made with cash or by card.
